made Marketing developed a visually engaging campaign for the Swiss office of Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus (DZT). It addresses families, active travellers and people who enjoy a relaxed holiday, using the «Wanderlust Germany» hashtag. The technical elements developed by made include video-call stations connecting directly to holiday destinations and a digital bicycle slot-machine game.

Sitting casually in a beach chair on Sylt, Niels answers questions about holidays on the island. He is connected to stand visitors by video call, and they are visibly pleased to see the sea.

The video-call station grew out of the pandemic. At the press of a button, it automatically connects to the holiday destinations, creating a sense of closeness despite the distance. Visitors receive first-hand information from a friendly, knowledgeable person. The approach is well received.
Giant digital postcards with handwritten-style messages on the reverse encourage visitors to write a postcard at the stand. There are 28 designs from 5 federal states. Visitors can also take a postcard home as a flyer.
«Dear Grandma, it is so exciting!» writes the fictional young Leo, describing a night in a sleeping beach chair and a mudflat safari in a child’s joined-up handwriting.

The DZT bicycle game, developed and programmed in-house by made Marketing, is a focal point of the roadshow alongside the bright red cube.

Angela Kessler, the project lead at DZT, says: «It was important to give visitors plenty of impressions of Germany as a holiday destination without overwhelming them with information. The giant digital postcards are a great solution.»
