Starting point
Mobiliar sponsors four indoor sports: basketball, volleyball, handball and floorball. For its 200th anniversary, the brief called for more than banners and branded surfaces. It needed an interactive brand activation that involved people, brought them together and worked equally well at different sports events.
The challenge was to create one concept connecting four sports, working in German and French and fitting Mobiliar’s anniversary communication.

Our solution
Rather than develop a separate game for each sport, we designed a shared gamification experience connecting all four. We took the idea of roundness literally, placing a round LED screen inside a purpose-built gaming table.
Its unusual shape made the table stand out. It felt like an interactive object in its own right, encouraging curiosity and participation.
The result was a live-marketing presence that let visitors experience the sponsorship through play.

Gamification: circular Pong with a basketball theme
At the centre was a new interpretation of the classic Pong game. Designed in-house at made, it was rethought for a circular playing surface.
The result was basketball-themed circular Pong for up to six people. Each player controlled their position with two arcade buttons, left and right. The aim was to keep the balls in play for as long as possible and achieve a high score together. Adapting Pong for up to six players on a round LED screen was a particular game-design challenge.
The game was deliberately accessible: understandable in seconds, immediately playable and cooperative at its core. Visitors could join quickly, with a strong incentive to play again, an important factor in event gamification.

From the workshop
How a game feels often comes down to details. During prototyping, we tested button spacing, heights and positions directly on the object until the controls felt intuitive.
made also developed and built the round gaming table. Alongside its appearance, we focused on stability, transport and careful integration of the LED screen. The screen was fitted into the housing to form a continuous, well-finished whole.
Combining the concept, game design and custom construction produced sponsorship gamification tailored to Mobiliar.
