# Roadshows

## Roadshows that move: mobile, modular, strong on brand

A roadshow is one of the formats with the strongest effect in live marketing. It takes your brand to where your audience already is, directly, repeatably and as something people take part in. Indoors or outdoors, at a trade fair, in retail or in public space: a great deal is possible.

For a tour to hold up, you need experience, planning and clever logistics. We think a roadshow through from end to end, from the creative concept to the technical build.

- Swisslos Rubbel los stand in a shopping centre with an orange and blue zigzag carpet, screens and two promoters
- Birra Moretti bar built as a yellow house facade with green shutters, a string of lights and guests at tables
- Red cube container on a courtyard between apartment buildings, passers-by in front of it
- Migros stone-oven bread pop-up with a white tiled wall, shelves and a bread table in the concourse of Zürich main station

In the planning we pay particular attention to three points:

- **Speaking to the right audience:** families, music fans, Gen Z or a sports crowd. Each group needs a different tone, and therefore different locations.
- **Location fit:** indoors or outdoors, weatherproof, structurally sound, modular to put up.
- **Reusing material:** we work existing material into the design where it makes sense, and build new pieces to last in our own workshop.

Producing in our own workshop and running our own vehicles brings further advantages:

- Our modular, personalised solutions go up and come down quickly.
- The stand elements we use are maintained and looked after by us.
- We transport efficiently and stay flexible.

And finally: we often, though not always, work with shipping containers we have converted ourselves. They are weatherproof, robust and can be used in many ways, from a mobile lounge to a sampling area, a stage or a game zone.

## What clients say

> Working with made was completely straightforward and very satisfying. Everything ran smoothly, even though we operated from Berlin and made took care of everything on site. And it was the first project we did together. The gamification element with the Oatly train gave the project that certain something. Thank you for the collaboration, we would do it again any time.

## FAQ

### How much does a roadshow cost?

A nationwide roadshow with several experience containers starts at 80'000 francs. A smaller mall roadshow with one mobile stand is possible from around 30'000 francs. The price depends mainly on the number of stops, the stand build, the game, transport and staffing on site.

### How many stops can a roadshow have?

Our roadshows so far have had between 5 and 27 stops. The [Swisslos roadshow](/cases/swisslos-roadshow-in-malls) visited 18 shopping centres, the [Visana Sprint roadshow](/cases/visana-sprint-roadshow) 27 cantonal finals, and around 23 stops are planned for Win for Life, including two trade fairs and a station. With the Glücksrad set-up for Heineken we covered 13 locations in four days.

### How long does it take to prepare a roadshow?

Allow 8 to 12 weeks from the briefing to the first stop. In that time we develop the stand concept and CAD visualisation, build in our own workshop, and prepare the game and the tour plan. We reuse furniture and elements you already have, which saves time and budget.

### How quickly is a roadshow set up and taken down?

A modular mall stand is up in 2 to 4 hours. We build the elements in our own workshop so they are quick to transport and assemble. For Heineken we took a counter, a banner and the Glücksrad through 13 shops in four days.

### Who runs the roadshow on site?

Our own crew and vehicles handle set-up and take-down, transport, storage between stops and maintenance of the material, with the project manager on site. We do not have our own pool of promoters, but we know good people. For Oatly we took care of everything on site while their team worked from Berlin.

### Where can a roadshow take place?

Wherever your audience goes: shopping centres, stations, trade fairs, festivals and sports events. The Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus toured Swiss stations with a [postcard roadshow](/cases/roadshow-deutsche-zentrale-fuer-tourismus), and the [Safety Castle](/cases/safety-castle-fur-arbeitssicherheit) travels in two containers to vocational schools and companies. On request we handle the coordination with shopping centres, SBB or organisers.
