# Black Star Sailing Container

> Converting and fitting out a shipping container as a transport unit and workshop for a catamaran.

## At a glance

- 40-foot transport and workshop container for the Black Star Sailing Team's 10-metre hydrofoil catamaran
- Wired, welded and fitted out over two months at made's workshop in Busslingen
- Interior with insulation, air conditioning, workbench and shelves for use in different climates
- First used at Urnersee in mid-June, with shipping to Italy, Portugal or Oman planned afterwards

The aim was to convert, equip and fit out a 40-foot container so that the Black Star Sailing Team's 10-metre hydrofoil catamaran could travel safely to races and regattas around the world.

The project involved extensive planning and technical visualisations, followed by hands-on work by the made team. For more than two months, we wired, welded, sawed and fitted components in our workshop in Busslingen. made equipped the interior with insulation, a workbench, shelving and more.

Air conditioning and insulation are particularly important because the team competes around the world in very different climates. The insulation protects the catamaran and spare equipment from damage caused by large fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

In mid-June, the converted container, branded for the sailing team and carrying the catamaran, can make its first trip to Urnersee for training and guest sailing. As soon as the global situation allows, the Black Star Sailing Container will be shipped to Italy, Portugal or even Oman.
